1Password can create strong, unique passwords for you, remember them, and restore them, all directly in your web browser. It’s really powerful, letting you save credit card numbers, purchased software information — you name it, 1Password can store it.
Then, through a link in your browser window – you’re in!

What happens when you try to get into one of these sites on a different computer?
Basically – you’re fecked!

This is where Dropbox comes to the rescue (again!).

You can sync your 1Password database across multiple computers so that you always have access to it and can always save to it, no matter what computer you’re using (or phone).

I found it kind of frustrating having multiple address books on my computers and my phone.
I was using my address book from my iMac, to get in touch – however as soon as I go anywhere and have to use my MacBook Pro all of the contacts screw up…GRRR.

Solution? – Sync your address book file to your Dropbox account.

I’m not going to post something that probably exists on other places online.
Instead, I’ll discuss what I find useful with Dropbox.

Firstly – Why isn’t this kind of thing (Online backup, File Sync, and sharing) readily included with Apple stuff? It should be free and readily accessible.

If you pay €2,000 for a desktop and another €2,000 for a laptop, then throw in a few quid for backup hard drives etc. isn’t it kind of insulting to charge another €100 for a mobileme account??

Anyone can sign into Dropbox – automatically getting 2Gigs of space. You can pay to get more, or…
..this is where the first trick comes in. (I actually saw this Article on the Dropbox forum.) Install multiple instances on the one computer.

DropCopy gives you the power to easily and quickly send files and folders to multiple destinations across your LAN by simply dragging files onto recipients in a popup window.

I have it installed on my iMac, Macbook Pro and my Iphone4. Sending files between the three is a doddle. My favorite feature is the ability to send from my Iphone.

1. If I get an email from some one with an attachment, the icon for the attachment (regardless of what type of file it is) defaults to the DropCopy icon.

    

2. Tap the DropCopy icon and it launches the app, which quickly finds the synced connection – in my case, my Imac and MacBook Pro.

    

3. I can choose one of my computers by tapping from the list of available computers I have on my newtwork with DropCopy installed on them. A couple of seconds later you have the new file on your desktop – Easy.

I designed a set like the last set as they were popular.
 

I messed around with some new ideas also in keeping with the floral header of this site and the section titles.
 

 

The only challenge is to keep the designs consistent.

Orientation specific content, means you turn your phone to navigate your site – Deadly!
 

On holding the phone upright, one can see the latest blog entry.
This is taken from the computer version of the site and dynamically re-styled.
There is also the option to go through the older blog posts with navigation buttons.
 

The portfolio information and graphics come directly from the live site and are dynamically resized.
 

The contact section – well, it is what it is!

Right – Engage Interactive are serious players in the CSS, jQuery realm, so you’d expect something like that from them…
However – its nice of them to think of dummies like me! – Full tutorial here!
 

Of course, some donkeys will be thinking that all sites look the same on iPhone…
Sorry – they don’t. Have a look at this on your iPhone or iPod touch and see for yerself!
